The Biologically Adaptable Rotary NiTi Files
Nickel-Titanium rotary instruments represent an evolution in optimizing preparation of a root canal system. Thermo-mechanical treatment of NiTi alloy has led to the emergence of new generation of intra-canal rotary NiTi instruments which exhibit a different phase transformation behavior. Such phasic transformation has shown to result in enhanced flexibility and resistance to cyclic fatigue.
One curve represents the next level of heat treated rotary NiTi files. It is manufactured from C- wire technology. This heat integrated technology has lead to marked enhancement of cyclic fatigue in dynamic mode and in body temperature. The purpose of this lecture is to shed the light on the new One Curve which represents the polymerization results of what we have learned and experienced from using rotary NiTi files for the past 22 years plus the added state of the art heat treatment of the C-wires which has resulted in a biologically adaptable instrument.
At the end of this lecture, participants will be able to :
- Discuss the current standing of rotary NiTi files in clinical practice and enumerate points of deficiencies.
- Explain the clinical correlation of heat treatment of NiTi files and apply it to the available NiTi files of the same type.
- List the properties of Once curve system approach and enumerate the the features that qualified it to be biological adaptable.

Digital tools in Endodontics: Guided splints for Root Canal Treatment and Surgical Endodontics
Combining advanced dental modeling software and 3D printer makes it possible to use a cone-beam CT image for much more then just the diagnosis. It is possible to open pinpoint and access obliterated and / or difficult to find root canals with a 3d printed drill guide. With the same technique, it is possible to produce a 3D printed root guide in surgical endodontics incorporating minimally invasive access to the root tip and at the same time avoiding injuries to important anatomical landmarks, even in posterior teeth.

Three-Dimensional Anatomic Cleaning, Shaping and Filling in Clinical Endodontics, Managing The Challenge.
The ultimate goal of the instrumentation phase of root canal therapy is to develop a sterile canal system before root filling while retaining as much healthy tooth structure as possible. The root canal system is highly complex, making cleaning during root canal treatment challenging. Micro-CT studies demonstrate that by the end of the instrumentation phase, round files touch only 45-55% of the walls of the canals. Many adjunct techniques have been tried to compensate for these shortcomings including; high concentration of NaOCl, EDTA, ultrasonication or by lasers technologies.
Modern NiTi technologies such as hollow lattice files and expandable files have shown good results in preparing canals anatomically while maintaining the original shape of the canal. At the same time, bioactive insoluble sealer materials are very promising with regard to three dimensional filling of the root canal system
This presentation will explore the technical, biological and clinical aspects of newer generation NiTi rotary files and their efficacy in cleaning the inaccessible areas of the root canal system.

The field of endodontics has seen a boom in development and continues to grow at a fast pace. A good question we must consider is to think about procedural combinations that give us our best results, and then consider what other procedures we may or may not be doing to achieve the best that can be done.
Despite the modern advancements and knowledge that has led us to understand more about endodontics, we must not deviate from basic principles, a list of guidance if you will, to what we ideally wish to accomplish in the process of shaping and cleansing.
We shall be starting the day with welcome note and outlining these principles and making a list of what we wish to achieve from a thorough endodontic and restorative procedure, before progressing on to learning from various experts, about various modern tools that can help us achieve those goals.
